What is motor point acupuncture?
Motor point acupuncture is a contemporary style of acupuncture that is based in the knowledge of anatomy, structure, and function. Motor points are located in muscles, where the nerve also is.
These nerves are responsible for the motor control of the muscles, allow the muscles to contract and relax and can be a part of dysfunction if there is an injury or pain.
The muscles treated are determined by a thorough assessment of the condition, testing and pain referral patterns, an analysis of the kinetic chains, movement patterns, myofascial slings, and postural changes.
